I somehow managed to go to Spain three times over a six week period. Twice for work (it's a tough job but someone's got to do it) and one for a mini city break with some friends. I ended up spending the week in Ibiza shooting an advert, then flew home late Thursday night and woke up at the crack of dawn to fly to Barcelona.

We are so lucky to live in a city that makes it so easy to jet to Europe (how glamorous does that sound!) The flight to Barcelona from London was 1 hour 35 minutes (which is how long it sometimes takes me to get to work in London...) We went as a group of 10 to surprise one of our friends for his 30th birthday.

We stayed at The Mirror hotel which was perfect for our weekend break. A really central location, amazing all white rooms (like the ones you see on Pinterest, that make you want to refurbish your bedroom but it never ends up looking the same) and a tiny little pool on the roof top. We were really lucky with the weather and had glorious sunshine for the entire weekend.

We used the motto of #WhatwouldBeyoncedo and ate in Windsor which was the same restuarant that her and Jay Z had been photographed in a couple of weeks earlier. I'm kidding, I'm kidding... we actually happened to book that restaurant before seeing her stroll out but then decided that if it was good enough for Beyonce it was good enough for us!

We all went to Camp Nou (yeh, I had no idea either... it's where FC Barcelona play) and watched a game of football. Not normally my scene but it was brilliant fun. The sun was shining and the atmosphere was incredible. And I managed to haggle in an hour in Zara in exchange for sitting through an entire football match.

Sunday was spent eating paella outside in the sunshine, and in the afternoon we spent a bit of time just laying on the beach before flying home.

I hugely recommend Barcelona as a little escape. It's so close but you feel a million miles away.

{This entire wall was made of mirrors so everywhere you went in the hotel you could see everyone. I'm a little concerned that my friends might kill me for putting them on the blog! }

{La Sagrada Familia - the most exquisite cathedral I have ever seen }

{La Boqueria - A food market just off Las Ramblas}

{Camp Nou in the sunshine. Don't think my fellow supporters understood the need for a bindi at a football match.}

{Mr Breegs and I in Park Guell, which overlooked the entire city of Barcelona - I have a funny feeling he's going to stop me having any pics with him as he's not a big fan of appearing on the blog!}
